The King of rock n’ roll will return to Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering in Ashley Cross on Thursday February 12, to perform at a fundraising event in aid of the Mayor of Poole’s charities;  YMCA (Shore Ideas), the Hamworthy Scouts and Poole Young Carers.

Award-winning Elvis Presley tribute singer Garry Foley will sing a string of the iconic singer’s hits from 7pm until late. Patrick’s treats frugal foodies to a special £5 menu for 2015

Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering in Ashley Cross is offering a helping hand to customers looking to tighten the purse-strings this January, with the launch of a new £5 menu.

Offering everything from bangers and mash with onion gravy and chicken linguini in marinara sauce, to lighter bites such as scampi wrap with tartare sauce, salad and fries, Patrick’s has introduced the menu in a bid to brighten up what can be the most depressing month of the year.

Patrick Michael, owner of Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering, said: “There’s not much to look forward to in January. In the aftermath of Christmas, people haven’t much spare cash for meals out and socialising, which can exacerbate feelings of low mood.

“We hope the new £5 menu will give those who don’t usually get out at this time of year the opportunity to treat themselves.”

In addition to the £5 menu, Patrick’s provides a loyalty card scheme for regular customers, which offers people the incentive to use the bar and restaurant more. The scheme was launched in August 2014 and is the only one of its kind in Ashley Cross, so it enables customers to benefit from exclusive incentives that aren’t available at any other bars or restaurants in the immediate area.

What’s more, those who sign up for the loyalty card will receive a £10 voucher for joining, which can be redeemed on food and drink at Patrick’s.

Patrick’s is open every day from 10am for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information about the loyalty card scheme, visit www.patricksrestaurants.co.uk/.

Patrick’s Restaurant launches monthly Guitar Licks open mic night

Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering in Ashley Cross is starting the year on a musical note, by launching Guitar Licks; a regular open mic night in January.

Hosted by local musician Rich Baxter, Guitar Licks will be held on the first Wednesday of every month from 8 – 11pm. Singer-songwriters of any age are being invited to take to the stage, though under-18s should be accompanied by an adult.

What’s more, performances will be recorded on the night and showcased on Rich’s YouTube channel and the official FaceBook page at www.facebook.com/guitarlicksatpatricks.  Also, everyone who performs will receive a free drink.

Patrick Michael, owner of Patrick’s, said: “We held a one-off open mic night in November which was an unexpectedly huge success, therefore we are hoping that people who’ve previously not had a venue to showcase their talent will come down, sing their hearts out and get a free drink in return!

Patrick added, “Rich Baxter from Bournemouth is heavily involved and well connected within the local music scene playing solo, duo and band gigs on guitar, vocals and drums so his presence at the open mic nights will be an encouragement to both seasoned musicians and those who are new to performing in front of an audience.”

The first Guitar Licks open mic night will take place on Wednesday January 7th. Food will be served from 6 -9pm.

Patrick’s event catering reports boost in bookings in 2014

Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering in Poole has reported an increase in popularity for its event catering service during 2014. Bookings have doubled since autumn 2013, and with enquiries coming in thick and fast for next year, the Ashley Cross establishment is confident that 2015 will be another successful year.

Patrick Michael, owner of Patrick’s, said: “The current trend in the food industry is to keep dining relaxed and simple. Here at Patrick’s we can offer a more laid-back style of catering including barbeques and hog roasts. People seem to like the idea of grazing, rather than sitting down to a set menu.”

He added: “We provide bespoke menus for each individual client, whether they require a simple buffet for an office meeting or elaborate canapés for a wedding.”

In order to provide the best possible event catering experience for its customers, Patrick’s works closely with a variety of local businesses and suppliers, including hog roast company Tasty Pig and its regular restaurant suppliers.

Looking ahead, the restaurant is hoping to work on building more close relationships with producers and suppliers, in order to benefit each other. The team will also offer their pop-up barbeque catering at local events including Wimborne fireworks display, a fireworks display at Castle Court school and at next year’s Party In The Park.

Patrick’s is open every day from 10am for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information on future events and offers go to www.facebook.com/Patrickspoole

Patrick’s Restaurant and Bar hosts a hat-trick of charity fundraising events this autumn

Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering in Ashley Cross, has been busy this autumn, hosting and organising a number of fundraising events in aid of local charities including Julia’s House, YMCA (Shore Ideas), the Hamworthy Scouts and Poole Young Carers.

The season of charity events kicked off in mid-September, with an Elvis Presley tribute night for the Mayor of Poole’s three charities, YMCA (Shore Ideas), the Hamworthy Scouts and Poole Young Carers. Patrick’s hosted the evening, which included a three-course meal and a performance from the award-winner Garry Foley – one of the South West’s best known Elvis Presley tribute singers.

Councillor Peter Adams, the Mayor of Poole, commented: “The event raised £550 for our charities, so many thanks to Patrick for putting on such an enjoyable evening. Garry Foley was a huge hit as Elvis Presley, and we are now planning a return visit.”

The end of September was marked with a charity golf day held at Broadstone Golf Club, in which Patrick’s raised £1,000 in aid of Julia’s House, the Dorset hospice which is dedicated to helping children with life-limiting conditions. Barclays generously matched the funds raised, making the total £2,000 for Julia’s House.

Most recently, Patrick’s hosted a meal and quiz night at Patrick’s on Tuesday October 7, also in aid of Julia’s House. Compered by Paul Kinvig, the event raised £700 for the charity.

Patrick’s has also raised more than £500 from charity pots on bar for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust. This generous sum was sent to them in mid-September.

Patrick Michael, owner of Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering said: “It makes us really proud to have helped some important local charities this autumn. We’ve raised thousands of pounds for some great local causes and look forward to continuing the support in the future.”

Patrick’s regularly hosts charity gigs, golf days and quiz nights throughout the year. For further information email info@patricksrestaurants.co.uk, call 01202 734000 or visit www.facebook.com/Patrickspoole to be informed of future events.
