Tower Park-based motor dealership Breeze Volkswagen has strengthened its support of community events by adding Dorset Volksfest to its sponsorship portfolio for 2016. Taking place from July 8 to 10 at the Worgret Road Showground in Wareham, the festival celebrates the iconic Volkswagen brand while hosting an array of live music, trade stands and children’s entertainment.
Breeze Volkswagen’s commitment will help Dorset Volksfest come alive with a huge display of cars, positioned around the campsite, and a host of rhythmic sounds for people of all ages to enjoy. The event is a family-friendly Volkswagen show with a variety of entertainment including magic shows and circus workshops, dance crew performances, MTB trail displays, bouncy castles and go carts. There will also be a live music marquee and dance tent all weekend and on the Sunday the show hosts a Pride in Ownership competition, with 20 classes of Volkswagens on display and trophies for winners.
As part of Breeze Volkswagen’s sponsorship, the motor dealership will be displaying a range of the latest Volkswagens, including the new Tiguan and the T6.
Richie Rivers, organiser of Dorset Volksfest, says: “We are delighted to welcome Breeze Volkswagen on board as festival sponsor. Now in its fourth year, the festival attracts up to 5,000 people and promises non-stop entertainment, with a wide spectrum of different music for adults and children alike.”
Laura Cook, marketing executive of Breeze Volkswagen, says: “Breeze Volkswagen is committed to supporting the region’s most exciting events. This fantastic Volkswagen event on our doorstep is the ideal opportunity to showcase the latest models and our aftersales services to fellow VW fans.”
Tower Park based motor dealership Breeze Volkswagen has partnered with Brotherwood to provide customers with bespoke wheelchair accessible vehicles.
To date Brotherwood has purchased 40 vehicles from Breeze Volkswagen. Brotherwood has converted the interior of six of these vehicles for customers who require specific adaptations.
John Corderoy, managing director of Breeze Volkswagen, says: “These uniquely designed vehicles give wheelchair users more freedom to live the life they want without being restricted from travelling. We are delighted to be able to offer high specification vehicles such as the Volkswagen Sharan. The Brotherwood team are great to work with and it is a mutually beneficial relationship.”
Brotherhood refits Volkswagen Sharans and offers their customers the choice to decide what additional features they would like. The Volkswagen Sharan offers compact transport for five adults, including the driver and a wheelchair passenger with a choice of configurations.
Brotherwood spokesperson said: “We have been manufacturing wheelchair accessible vehicles since 1985. Our accessible vehicles enable wheelchair passengers to travel in comfort, inclusively and safely. They provide the ability for wheelchair passengers to sit closely with the other passengers within the vehicle, with a comfortable ride and good view out of the car. Our discrete adaptations, although wheelchair-friendly, blend seamlessly with other cars on the road.”
Master technicians at Poole-based Breeze Volkswagen have recently restored a 1976 VW Beetle 1200 to its former glory and it’s set to be displayed in their Tower Park showroom.
The car, which will celebrate its 40th birthday next year, has covered 60,000 miles and has had two owners from new, who were neighbours. The documents which came with the vehicle include its original service record and handbook stamped by Volkswagen, old tax discs, MOT certificates, various bills and receipts. It even has the original bill of sale from when it was purchased new for £2,600.
Andy Garrett, used vehicle buyer at Breeze Volkswagen, said: “We were all very excited when we saw the car. It’s in remarkable condition with a fabulous heritage and was obviously cherished by its owners. It had been locked away in a garage for the last 14 years and structurally is in fabulous condition.”
“Its last owner sadly passed away and his son in law brought it to Breeze Volkswagen on a trailer as it hadn’t been started for many years. The brakes were seized on and all the old fuel and oils needed draining and replacing. Once the brake hoses were changed and the fuel tank was replaced along with many other serviceable items, it started with the first turn of the key.
Marion Barzilay, wife of Anthony Barzilay, the last owner, said: “My earliest memories of the car were hearing from the first owners about their wonderful European trips in it and showing us their detailed journal enjoying the Volkswagen lifestyle. The bright orange Beetle featured in many of their photos alongside popular tourist attractions. The car has been a big part of our lives, if only it could talk!”
The Beetle, some of the original documents and pictures of the first owners alongside the car, will be on display at the Tower Park showroom.
