Broadstone-based luxury care home The Links, is hosting a summer fete on Wednesday August 31 in the grounds of the home.

Open to the public, the fete takes place from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and includes a range of family friendly games, visiting alpacas and a cake stall.

June Gallagher, operations manager for Primetower Care, which runs The Links in Broadstone and The Lindsay in Westbourne, said: “Weather permitting the Links summer fete is set to be a fantastic family event. Entry is free to the public, and all funds raised on the day will go to Age UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.”

The Links care home expands team with the appointment of activities coordinator

Committed to improving levels of care, luxury care home provider Primetower has strengthened its team at its development in Broadstone, The Links, by appointing an activities coordinator.

Zoe McCarthy joins The Links with more than eight years’ care industry experience and will be responsible for planning and facilitating a full programme of activities which are adapted to suit the need and wishes of residents.  The activities Zoe will be coordinating include quizzes, swimming sessions, indoor games, art and craft as well as trips out and about.

Zoe says: “I’m looking forward to my new challenge and working with some fabulous people and the residents at The Links.”

Luxury care home provider, Primetower which runs The Links in Broadstone and The Lindsay in Poole, has connected with Liveability Holton Lee to enable residents to create weekly garden projects to aid wellbeing.

A group of residents from both care homes visited the discovery centre at Holton Lee in July, and took part in garden activities.

Healthcare Assistant dons finest fancy dress and raises funds for breast cancer charity

A Healthcare Assistant working at The Links care home in Broadstone, Poole raised more than £300.00 by walking 26.2 miles when she participated in The Moon Walk London on Saturday May 14.

Mo Burton, 59, who has worked at The Links for more than two years, embarked on the challenge to raise funds for Walk the Walk, a charity which supports breast cancer causes. She completed the challenge in eight hours alongside her daughter and niece. Mo said: “It was a huge personal achievement to complete the marathon walk as it took four months to train for and I was delighted that as a team of three, we raised more than £700.00 for breast cancer causes.”

John Yeoman, managing director of Primetower Care, the company which runs The Links care home and The Lindsay in Poole, said: “We were delighted to support Mo in her marathon challenge. She is a real inspiration to the team here as well as to all the residents who are all really proud of her.”
