The Sandbanks Hotel
The Sandbanks Hotel in Poole is offering a three-night dinner, bed and breakfast festive break for families which includes afternoon tea on arrival, lunch, dinner and children’s entertainment. The price for a three-night stay over Christmas (24 – 26 December) starts from £390 per adult and discounted children’s rates (three to 14) are available.
Father Christmas will be making a stop on The Sandbanks Hotel’s Winter Terrace on Christmas Eve and he will be bringing a couple of his reindeer with him. Families will be able to wander through the snow-filled terrace and enjoy mulled wine and a hog roast before sitting down to an evening meal with live music.
Aside from a traditional Christmas lunch and festive party food, evening entertainment will be taking place throughout the festive season including a pantomime presented by the Funsters team on Boxing Day.
The Chine Hotel
The Chine Hotel in Bournemouth is offering a three-night dinner, bed and breakfast package for families and includes afternoon tea, lunch, dinner and entertainment. The price for a three-night stay over Christmas (24 – 26 December) is £360 per adult. Discounted children’s rates are also available.
On Christmas Eve the hotel will host a welcome drinks reception and guests can enjoy listening to a brass band before sitting down for dinner.
On Christmas Day morning guests will get to meet Father Christmas, who will then lead everyone a short distance to Bournemouth beach for a festive swim in the sea or stroll along the beach, before Christmas Day lunch is served. Guests will be entertained by the hotel’s resident pianist during dinner.
The hotel will be organising a Boxing Day casino following dinner.
The Haven Hotel
During the Christmas period The Haven Hotel, which is idyllically located at the very tip of the exclusive Sandbanks peninsular, will be providing guests with a programme of events to suit all ages. The hotel is offering a three-night full board package between 24 and 26 December starting at £445 per person. Discounted children’s rates are also available.
On Christmas Eve, guests will be able to relax for the afternoon in the Harmony at The Haven spa and leisure facilities and will then be able to join in with a traditional carol service before dinner is served at 8pm.
On Christmas Day, Father Christmas will arrive with gifts for the younger guests before the hotel’s head chef, Jason Hornbuckle, and his team serve up an exquisite Christmas lunch using the finest local produce.
The hotel will be hosting an afternoon cream tea on Boxing Day before dinner is served in the evening.
The Harbour Heights Hotel
Couples and families can retreat this Christmas into a world of contemporary elegance at the Harbour Heights Hotel. With unrivalled sea views over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island, this is the perfect location to relax and celebrate Christmas.

Mark Newton has joined Harmony at The Haven, based at The Haven Hotel in Sandbanks, as personal trainer and fitness coach.
With more than three years’ experience in the fitness industry, Mark began his career as a level three personal trainer and joins Harmony at The Haven from David Lloyd in Ringwood where he was a platinum personal trainer. In this position, Mark delivered one-to-one tailored exercise sessions as well as providing advice and support on issues such as health, fitness and nutrition.
Mark has expertise in diet and nutrition, core and abs, body sculpting, body building, weight loss, cross fit and much more. Mark is a regular trainer himself and is dedicated to helping others exercising regularly and getting results.
In his role at Harmony at The Haven, Mark will be responsible for implementing one-to-one personal training sessions with members and will also plan, prepare and instruct group exercise classes such as body pump, crossFit, yoga, pilates and Cxworx which is a short, sharp workout that helps to strengthen and tone the body.
Charlotte Butterworth, spa manager at Harmony at The Haven, says: “Mark’s wide range of experience in fitness techniques and designing bespoke exercise regimes for individuals made him the ideal choice to fill this vital role at Harmony at The Haven. During the October half-term holiday period, the AA four-star Sandbanks Hotel in Poole, part of the FJB Collection, has organised an exciting programme of activities for guests holidaying or visiting the hotel. Based directly on Poole’s renowned blue flag Sandbanks beach, the hotel is set to host a Spooktacular Halloween event from Wednesday October 31 to Friday November 2 from 4pm to 9pm.
Families will be able to enjoy a range of themed fun-filled activities, creative pursuits and face painting. Children under 12 can join the Funsters in the Dead Man’s Chest while anyone over the age of 12 can take a trip down to Smuggler’s Walk.
Families will be able to enjoy food and drink while taking in the breath-taking dusk views of Sandbanks beach as well as Old Harry Rocks and the Purbeck Hills in the distance; only of course if they arrive early enough!

October half-term is fast becoming a popular time for a short, one week family holiday and to help parents with the cost, the FJB Collection has announced deals at two of its Dorset-based hotels for families who want to make the most of the break (October 26 – November 4).
For all bookings of two nights or more made before October 14, The Sandbanks Hotel in Poole and The Chine Hotel in Bournemouth are offering to host up to two children, up to age 14, on a complimentary bed and breakfast basis when sharing a room with two adults. Children will also receive a free high tea for dinner which includes a selection of main courses, desserts and drinks for the duration of the stay. The Funsters entertainment team will also be on-hand during October half-term at both hotels, providing a whole host of activities to keep children entertained.
The Sandbanks Hotel has direct access on to the renowned Blue Flag Sandbanks beach, winner of more blue flag awards than any other British beach, and is the perfect destination for watersports and family fun.
