Background

Increase awareness to increase impact

Liz Lean PR (LLPR) supports Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, an independent Dorset charity providing free care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Our brief is to strengthen local recognition and help people understand modern hospice care through positive stories about the team, patients, and communities behind it.

The Brief

High-quality press office function to maximise opportunity & value for the charity

LLPR manages the full PR function for Lewis-Manning. We work closely with teams across the charity, to ensure we fully understand the people, the care, and the community and so our communications always feel considered, compassionate, and true to its voice.

Our work brings together clinical and partnership announcements, human-interest stories, and fundraising promotions, so the full picture of Lewis-Manning’s work reaches the people who matter – whether that be patients, donors, or clinical stakeholders. We regularly prepare spokespeople for interviews and develop clear, confident messages for key organisational moments, so the team feels supported whenever the spotlight turns their way.

Long-standing relationships with regional journalists and broadcasters aid us to land Lewis-Manning stories consistently, and the media now often come to Lewis-Manning as the voice for hospice care in Dorset. Editors and reporters know they can rely on us for well-told, accurate and timely content, which helps secure regular, meaningful coverage.

Beyond press office activity, our work includes monthly newsletters, supporter communications, and event publicity, as well as advice on sensitive issues when careful handling is needed. By working closely with the charity’s team, we keep clinical care and community support connected throughout the communications, so every message reflects the charity’s whole purpose and mission.
