Background

Protecting the company’s most valuable asset, its reputation

Family-owned Daish’s Holidays group operates 11 UK hotels in 10 popular UK resorts and a fleet of luxury coaches.

The company has been serving UK holidaymakers for more than 45 years, providing good quality holiday packages that combine value with comfort.

The Brief

Community building, awareness raising, and reputation management

Liz Lean PR (LLPR) was appointed by Daish’s Holidays in 2019 to provide crisis communications support when its Claremont Hotel in Eastbourne was devastated by a fire. The blaze took hold during breakfast service and caused catastrophic damage to the Grade II Listed building.

LLPR quickly became a trusted partner to manage the media on Daish’s behalf and ultimately to protect its most valuable asset – brand reputation.

Following the successful crisis communications management of the Claremont fire, LLPR was appointed as Daish’s retained PR agency in 2020. The agency was briefed by the group, which operates 11 UK hotels and a fleet of luxury coaches, to provide regional, national, and trade PR support, including setting up a press office function and managing multiple press trips to its hotels throughout the year.

In more recent years, LLPR expanded its services to manage Daish’s social media presence and further community engagement. The LLPR team created the highly successful Daish’s Community Facebook page, an online home for thousands of Daish’s loyal customers to share their tips, knowledge, and fond memories of their Daish’s holiday.
