A group of Poole ladies got Christmas wrapped up at the Dolphin shopping centre, Poole, raising a fantastic £2,945.80 for Beating Bowel Cancer and Heart Research U.K.
Jean Austreng and her team gave up their precious time over the festive period to gift wrap those last minute Christmas presents for shoppers. In return they asked that people using the service donate an amount to the charities.
She comments: “Customers seemed to really enjoy the chance to get their presents wrapped with us. We found that the nearer it got to Christmas, the more money we collected. We raised the most on Saturday December 22 and Christmas Eve.”
Centre manager, John Grinnell, said: “We are really pleased that the Christmas wrappers returned to the Dolphin shopping centre this year as busy shoppers love having the opportunity to have one job less to do whilst raising money for two very worthy causes.”
