Popular clothing brand Weird Fish has re-opened its doors in Newquay following a store re-fit.
The store based in Fore Street revealed its new design on Monday November 20. The Newquay store’s bright and contemporary re-fit, follows the successful launch of the Scarborough store earlier this year. These re-fits are the beginning of a planned series of store re-designs for Weird Fish.
The new format aims to bring Weird Fish’s physical presence up to the same level as its successful online operation. Design group Whiteroom was appointed to deliver the concept. The group used data from online buying behaviour, positioning ‘buy the look’ displays in store, which use the current top-rated items from the online store. These will be updated on a monthly rolling basis.
The Newquay store opened in 2011. The refresh stays true to Weird Fish’s coastal-inspired roots, while adding a twist. With a nod to a fun nautical theme, there are elements of greenery and tranquil colours to bring the seaside to life.
John Stockton, managing director at Weird Fish, said: “We worked hard to bring our new store vision to life, it is a real move on for us and we are delighted to have refreshed our fantastic Newquay store. Like the Cornish, we love being out and about – our clothing reflects our love of the great outdoors.”
Nicola Philips, store manager at the Weird Fish Newquay store, said: “We are receiving positive feedback on the new design already. Customers are commenting on how light and bright the new design is.”
The next store re-fit is planned for Dartmouth in 2018.
