Clothing brand Weird Fish has announced that its like-for-like retail sales in the first four months of 2015 were 8.3 per cent ahead of 2014.  The news coincides with the opening of a new store in York, the company’s 12th retail store.

Ecommerce sales, not included in the above figures, increased by 45 per cent in same period, and now represent 39 per cent of combined retail and ecommerce sales (last year: 32%).

Commenting on the figures, John Stockton, managing director of Weird Fish, said: “Our new products this season, in both menswear and womenswear, have been enormously successful, and it is clear that new and existing customers alike are appreciating our distinctive and relaxed designs.

“We are very excited to be opening a new store in York, where we already have many customers and, combined with our new website, which launched in November, reflect the continued growth and success of the Weird Fish brand.”

The new Weird Fish is located at 36 Stonegate, York, and opens on Thursday May 7.
