Following months of gruelling training, Mark Collins has returned from his mammoth 328km cycle across South East Asia, travelling from Vietnam to Cambodia. He raised a total of £9,500 for Wave 105 Cash for Kids and during his challenge the presenter had to eat a deep-fried tarantula after pledging to do so if he raised more than £5,000.

It has been a busy year for the presenter; he ran the Bupa Great South Run just two-weeks before flying out to South East Asia. In the weeks running up to the challenge Mark carried out more than 12 pub quizzes in Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight to raise cash for Wave 105 Cash for Kids.

Mark says: “I set myself a target to raise £5,000 for Wave 105 Cash for Kids and promised to eat a deep-fried tarantula which are sold as “snacks” on the roadside in that part of the world if I did. Unfortunately for me but brilliant for Wave 105 Cash for Kids I raised £9,500. I have supported the worthy charity for many years now, helping underprivileged children in the south.”
