The south’s biggest radio station Wave 105 is proud to be sponsoring this year’s B&Q Eastleigh 10K Road Race.

The race, which celebrates its 31st anniversary this year, takes place on Sunday March 22 at 9am and will see more than 2,500 runners take to the streets around Eastleigh running 10K for their chosen charities. Under 12’s are also invited to participate in a 2K fun run, beginning at 11am at Fleming Park in Eastleigh.

Wave 105 listeners will have a chance to win a number of free entries for either race when they raise sponsorship for Wave 105’s popular charity, Cash for Kids, which fundraises for a variety of children’s charities across the region.

Race organiser Steve Collins said: “It’s great to see so many runners supporting this great running event. B&Q’s sponsorship has been fantastic and I know all the runners really appreciate their support for the event. Running has had a huge increase in popularity since the Olympics, so why not be inspired and take up a sporting challenge to complete the race.

“It’s great that the event is promoted and supported by Wave 105 across the region, with listeners also having the chance to win a number of free entries for the 10k race or 2k fun-run if they raise sponsorship for the popular Cash for Kids appeal.”

Runners will all receive a free T-shirt, and could win up to £5,000 when running competitively.

Gloria Hill, Cash for Kids charity manager, added: “This race is an excellent opportunity for returning and new runners alike to be inspired to raise funds for our charity, Cash for Kids. Whether running for loved ones or for fun, the 10K race offers a challenge, while also being an enjoyable and memorable experience.

“We will be supporting all of our runners leading up to and during the race, and look forward to seeing superb amounts being raised by extraordinary people.”
