Wave 105 is celebrating continued success after the latest (RAJAR) – independent audience research – revealed strong listening figures.
The south’s most popular radio station has people tuning in for an average of 11.4 hours a week, delivering 4,167,000 total listening hours each week; making it 2.1 times higher in terms of total listening hours than its nearest commercial competitor.
Commenting on the latest set of figures, Wave 105’s managing director Martin Ball said: “Wave 105 celebrates its 17th birthday in a few weeks and we are delighted to be able to celebrate the station’s successful RAJAR figures, cementing our position as market leader.”
Wave 105 continues to broadcast all of its award-winning content locally. This commitment combined with a skilfully blended mix of popular music, essential news, and a team of engaging presenters, creates a winning formula and makes the station the most popular choice for listeners in the region.
Martin adds: “With a typical weekly reach in excess of 40 million and engagement of more than 4 million we are proving as popular on Facebook as we are on air and over 100,000 Facebook likes back this up. Combine this with nearly 50,000 Twitter followers and our social media footprint is a powerful platform in its own right.
“Thank you to our listeners for continuing to tune in and engage with us, both on-air and online, to make us your very own local station.”
