Shortly after celebrating its 17th birthday, commercial radio market leader Wave 105 has delivered its biggest ever weekly audience, according to the latest (RAJAR)* – independent audience research.
With 395,000 people tuning in for an average of 11.9 hours a week, the south’s most popular radio station now delivers 4,689,000 total weekly listening hours.
Commenting on the latest set of figures, Wave 105’s managing director Martin Ball said: “Since launching the station 17 years ago, we have continued to develop our offering to deliver what our listeners want from their radio station, and these fantastic figures demonstrate that we are doing something right!”
“Our breakfast show remains a ‘stand-out listen’ and Steve Power is delighted by the results. We remain committed to evolving our listener experience and are delighted that our audience continue to enjoy spending time with us.”
Wave 105 continues to broadcast all of its award-winning content locally. This commitment combined with a skilfully blended mix of popular music, essential news, and a team of engaging presenters, creates a winning formula and makes the station the most popular choice for listeners in the region.
Martin adds: “With this week’s (July 30 -August 5) reach in excess of 117 million and engagement over 11 million, we are proving as popular on Facebook as we are on air and our 185,000 Facebook ‘likes’ back this up. Combine this with nearly 50,000 Twitter followers and our social footprint is a powerful platform in its own right.”
