Wave 105 Cash for Kids has launched its 2012 Toy Appeal, Mission Christmas.

For the fourth year running, the station is asking listeners to donate new unwrapped toys for those children who wouldn’t otherwise receive a gift this festive season. The appeal is sponsored by Foresters and Snows SEAT and is in association with Sainsburys and Pickfords.

The charity team will be collecting toys until Friday December 14 and are asking people to help make a child’s Christmas special this year by dropping a present off to one of the many collection points across the south.

Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “The 2011 appeal collected 5,000 toys, worth nearly £109,000, and we hope to exceed that figure this year. We require new toys that are unwrapped, all of which will go to disadvantaged children within the region.”

A spokesperson from Foresters said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Wave 105 Cash for Kids Christmas appeal this year. We are hoping to make Christmas very special for these youngsters.”

Wave 105 will be broadcasting live from selected Sainsburys stores next month, launching at Sainsburys, Hedge End, on Monday December 3 with Steve Power’s Breakfast Show.

Damien Fancy, Sainsburys store manager, said: “Sainsburys stores across the south are proud to once again support Wave 105 Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Toy Appeal. It’s great that we can help brighten up the Christmas of many children.”
