Wave 105 presenter, Mark Collins, is getting set for the third of his endurance trips with 16 Wave 105 listeners to raise money for Wave 105 Cash for Kids. He will be trekking the Inca Trail at altitude to Machu Picchu in Peru on November 9.
Mark has set himself a target to raise £10,000 for the charity and will once again be taking to the road during the next six weeks to present the ‘Big Pop Quiz’, visiting pubs and clubs in Dorset and Hampshire in order to fulfil this aim.
The trip to Peru follows Mark’s other challenges including a Sahara Desert trek in 2010 and cycling throughout Vietnam and Cambodia in 2011, raising £100,000 so far for disadvantaged children in the south.
Mark said: “I’m going to have to work hard for the six weeks to raise the cash but I’ve set a £10,000 target and want to hit it before I depart for Peru in November.
“Despite the fact that it is a gruelling trip, the team and I are really looking forward to the 26-mile trek which combines beautiful mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest and subtropical jungle with the Inca stones and ruins. Hitting my target and raising £10,000 for Wave 105 Cash for Kids will make the expedition even more rewarding.”
