Wave 105’s Rick Jackson took to the wheel of a double decker Stagecoach bus to drive 15 families to Marwell Wildlife for a fun day out raising £782 for Wave 105 Cash for Kids.

The radio presenter made the most of his recently acquired bus driving license as the families hopped on board to enjoy competitions and quizzes en route to the Hampshire attraction.

Rick Jackson, Wave 105 presenter, said: “I have been dying to use my bus driving skills on the road for some time now so it was great to be able to take the families on such a fun-filled adventure!”

Marwell Wildlife hosted a range of private sessions for the families including meeting stick insects, a rat, a Madagascan hissing cockroach and learning about animal adaptation using confiscated artefacts.

All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Wave 105 Cash for Kids, helping disadvantaged children in the south.

Andrew Dyer, managing director of Stagecoach South, said: “It was great supporting Rick’s passion and get him behind the wheel of a double decker bus whilst raising funds for local children.”

Paul Simmons, Head of Marketing at Marwell Wildlife, added: “We were delighted to help such a worthy cause as Wave 105 Cash for Kids and our staff worked hard to make the visit extra special. We are so pleased that everyone enjoyed themselves.”
