The team at Wave 105 Cash for Kids has awarded the Hampshire based Coxford and District Youth Football Project a grant of £890.00, as well as a host of arts and crafts materials for the charity craft club.
The Coxford and District Youth Project has been running for the past 20 years and was created for disadvantaged young people. The money awarded by the Wave 105 Cash for Kids team will go towards football coaching fees and equipment for football sessions that the charity runs in St.James’ Park, Shirley.
Marina Murphy, volunteer fundraiser from the Coxford and District Youth Project said: “Thank you so much to Wave 105 Cash for Kids for this extremely generous donation. The money has enabled us to provide an opportunity for those children that would normally miss out, they can now enjoy some active time out and about.
“We’re only a small organisation and we nearly folded just over a year ago, so grants such as this one really make all the difference. My own son has special needs too, so I’ve been able to see first-hand the great work that the project does.”
Wave 105’s charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “We’re thrilled that this grant will make such a difference to these children. Thank you to our wonderful Wave 105 listeners and charity supporters for their continuing generosity.”
The Coxford and District Youth Project works in partnership with the St.James’ Park café which is a community interest company run by a group of volunteers.
