Wave 105 is celebrating continued success after the latest (RAJAR) independent audience research revealed it has further extended its position as the commercial radio market leader.

The South’s most popular radio station now has a record 438,000 people tuning in, for an average of 10.3 hours a week, delivering 4,520,000 total listening hours each week; making it 2.4 times higher in terms of total listening hours than its nearest commercial competitor.

Commenting on the latest set of figures, Wave 105’s managing director Martin Ball said: “This is yet another fantastic result for the station, achieving an all-time high in audience and share in such a competitive market”.

Wave 105 continues to broadcast all of its award-winning content locally. This commitment combined with a skilfully blended mix of popular music, essential news and a team of engaging presenters creates a winning formula, making the station the most popular choice for listeners in the region.

Martin adds: “Since we first launched Wave 105 16 years ago we have continually evolved the listener experience to reflect changing tastes, habits and demands of life in the south. For people to continue to listen to us with such enthusiasm is very rewarding.  I’d like to thank you for continuing to spend time with us and we will keep working hard to deliver what you want from your local radio station.”
