Wave 105 has received record breaking weekly reach figures and continues to be the south’s commercial radio market leader, after receiving impressive results from the latest (RAJAR) independent audience research.

The south’s leading radio station Wave 105 also received, for the second time, greater total weekly listening hours than Heart, Capital, Smooth, Sam, The Breeze and Fire, combined.

Wave 105 now has 442,000 people tuning in, for an average of 12.1 hours a week, an increase of 15.7% year on year, delivering 3,294,000 more listening hours than the next commercial radio station.

Commenting on the latest set of figures, Wave 105’s managing director Martin Ball, said: “This is a great result! Continuing to grow in popularity after 18 years is very satisfying for the Wave 105 team.

“We have a simple formula, we listen to our audience’s feedback and then focus on continually on evolving and refining our music and content, both on air and through our digital platforms, to ensure it remains relevant and reflects our listener’s lifestyles.

“Thank you to all of our listeners. If you have not yet discovered Wave 105, please join us to find out what you’ve been missing.”
