Aimee Looker, marketing executive at telecommunications firm VoIP Unlimited took part in the sporting challenge of her life on Sunday 26 April – pounding the streets of London to raise funds for HeadSmart; a campaign launched by the company’s charity of the year, The Brain Tumour Charity.

22-year-old Aimee, who already competed in Tough Mudder in 2014, completed the 26-mile London Marathon in just five hours and 25 minutes.

Aimee has managed to raise £2,000 through tireless fundraising, which included hosting a charity pub quiz at Patrick’s restaurant and bar and launching a competition to guess her finish time. Aimee hopes to reach her total of £2,500 for the charity by the end of May.

The HeadSmart campaign aims to raise the awareness of brain tumour symptoms in children and young people, which include persistent or recurring vomiting, headaches and deteriorating vision. The Brain Tumour Charity is the leading funder of brain tumour research in the UK, spending over £12 million to date on pioneering projects that will help adults and children with brain tumours.

Aimee Looker, said: “The London Marathon was such an overwhelming day with all the support from the crowd and I am proud to have done it for such a good cause. I’d really like to reach my fundraising total, so if people are able to offer a donation before the end of the month that would be greatly appreciated.”
