The Wave 105 Cash for Kids team is thrilled to announce that the station’s listeners have donated more than 5,000 toys for disadvantaged children across the south, and that total is still rising.
The Wave 105 Cash for Kids Toy Appeal ended on 16th December. The team are now busy getting the goodies distributed ahead of Christmas Day to social service groups, women’s refuges and family centres, amongst other places, to bring Christmas sparkle to those children who wouldn’t otherwise receive a gift this festive season.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many extremely kind-hearted people have donated a new unwrapped gift to one of our drop-off points across the south. We have collected more than double the amount of last year, which is fantastic news.
“We would like to thank our sponsors Foresters and the Hendy Group. Pickfords also got on-board with the initiative to collect and deliver the toys. Everyone involved has brought some Christmas magic to some very deserving children.”
