Windfest, the annual water and beach sports festival is moving to a new location this September, under the name ‘Windfest Re-Tuned’.

Hosted on Sandbanks beach in Poole for the past 14 years, the event has evolved to feature more than 15 action sports and now needs additional land and camping facilities to grow. The new venue is Pylewell Park, near Lymington in Hampshire, which has 1,500 acres of land, an 18th century house, private beach and lakes.

Catering for every action sport Windfest has become renowned for, Pylewell also allows for new features including mountain bike trails, yoga, and a full kite flying and boarding showcase for both land and sea. Maintaining its goal to provide something for everyone, Windfest Re-Tuned, taking place from Friday 14th September to Sunday 16th September, will cater for families and sports enthusiasts alike, with a large unplugged music line-up, top-level comedy, silent discos, as well as children’s entertainment. More will be announced shortly.

Sports demonstrations from leading professionals in kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, BMX, skateboarding, slacklining, paddleboarding, volleyball and Frisbee will be staged daily as well as offering plenty of opportunities for ticket-holders to have a go themselves.

Organiser and founder of the event, Gary Willingham said: “Windfest has grown enormously since 1998 and it is exciting to now be working on Windfest Re-Tuned. We wanted to make the event all-encompassing where everyone can camp overnight – a longstanding request we are now able to deliver – and enjoy the atmosphere of a huge action sports community. Pylewell is a stunning location and provides us with everything we need and more to allow the event to grow in the future.”

Tickets will be available to purchase online from www.windfest.co.uk and from other outlets across the region. Sign up to receive regular updates.
