The confetti has settled on the highly anticipated ODEON cinema in the new BH2 Leisure complex, and the cinema team is celebrating the success of the action packed launch period.

During the opening week ODEON welcomed more than 23,000 guests through the doors to enjoy the latest blockbusters including The Lego Batman Movie, Fifty Shades Darker, Sing and T2: Trainspotting. The total showing time of films viewed during the weekend totalled 888 hours and 32 minutes.

Richard Rowe, general manager for ODEON Bournemouth said: “The opening week was a huge success and we’ve really hit the ground running since opening. We were extremely excited to welcome many thousands of guests and we have been delighted with their amazing feedback and great reaction to our new offering.

“Our guests have been impressed with the variety of services on offer here, especially those who have experienced the new ISENSE screen which delivers a brighter and clearer picture with a cutting edge Dolby Atmos sound system and 56 top spec speakers, each individually controlled to immerse guests into the heart of the action, and our luxury recliner seats have become the talk of the town.”

The new kids screen has been a huge hit with the Bournemouth guests. Families have been pictured watching the latest blockbusters in the new ODEON kids screen, one of the special features of the new cinema. This unique screen includes a soft play area for the kids to enjoy throughout the film and with ever-so-slightly brighter lights, parents can keep an eye on their children throughout.

In addition there is an upstairs bar area where guests can dine on a premium food selection of pizzas and planks. ODEON Bournemouth is also one of the first cinemas in the UK to offer guests the opportunity to relax in indulgent reclining chairs in 8 of the 10 screens.

Richard continued: “The film slate for the rest of 2017 is one of the most exciting in years, with a massive range of fantastic titles that will give our guests lots of choice through the Easter holiday and all the way to Christmas.”

Some of the most anticipated films to be shown in the coming weeks are:

  • Kong: Skull Island – 10th March
  • Beauty and The Beast – 17th March
  • Boss Baby – 1st April
  • Fast and Furious 8 – 14th April
