ODEON Dorchester is set to continue The Royal Opera House Live Cinema Season during 2014, with the first performance of the year kick-started by one of the most celebrated classical ballets of all time, Giselle.

Screened at the Brewery Square-based cinema on Monday 27 January at 7.15pm, Giselle is one of the most popular romantic ballets of all time.  The production by Sir Peter Wright brings together an engaging mix of human passions, supernatural forces and the power of self-sacrificing love.  From the time of its 1841 premiere in Paris, this dramatic ballet is a tale of a young peasant girl who has a passion for dancing and dies of a broken heart.

Alan Escott, general manager at ODEON Dorchester, says: “With music by one of the 19th century’s great ballet composers, Adolphe Adam, Giselle stands alongside Coppélia and Swan Lake as one of the most notable classical ballets. In the cinema, viewers will feel like they have the best seat in the house.  The cinema experience will bring our guests closer to the finest dancers on stage.”

Tickets for the Giselle (Live) performance are priced at £12.50 for adults, £10.50 for seniors and students and £10 for children and teenagers.

ODEON Dorchester is situated within the Brewery Square development and tickets for Giselle can be booked by calling 0871 224 4007 or visiting www.odeon.co.uk/cinemas/dorchester/214/
