Wave 105 has joined the Go! Rhinos charge with Marwell Wildlife and is looking for budding artists to design artwork to adorn its rhino sculpture.
The competition is open now and is running until March 17, so there is plenty of time for both amateur and professional artists to submit designs. To enter, simply go to www.wave105.com, have a go at designing and decorating the Wave 105 rhino and then send in the design.
The Go! Rhinos trail will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Marwell Wildlife and feature a collection of large rhino sculptures on display around the city of Southampton during summer 2013.
Jon Brooks, commercial director of Wave 105, said: “We have worked with Marwell Wildlife on a number of projects in the past but this one is a really exciting one for us as we can get listeners involved while supporting Marwell’s conservation projects and two local charities, The Rose Road Association and Wessex Heartbeat High 5 Appeal”.
“We look forward to seeing the entries in the coming weeks and finally picking a talented winner to have their design brought to life on our Wave 105 Go! Rhinos sculpture.”
Kirstie Mathieson, Go! Rhinos project manager, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Wave 105 as the Official Radio Partner of Marwell Wildlife’s Go! Rhinos that is charging into Southampton this summer.
“The trail is attracting support from schools, businesses and organisations from across the region and we are delighted to have Wave 105 championing all aspects of this exciting project. The opportunity they are offering their listeners to design their Go! Rhino sculpture is fantastic and we really hope that everyone puts their creative hats on and submit their ideas.”
