Poole-based telecommunications VoIP Unlimited has doubled its staff in the past year and is looking for further significant growth in 2014 as it heads into its eighth year of trading.

Technology is arguably one of the fastest-moving markets in the world and its recent development has been particularly exciting in telecommunications terms. IP-based calls are now very much the norm among many businesses and individuals, who choose to run their conversations over the web rather than through more expensive traditional telephone lines.  Due to witnessing an increase in demand for VoIP technology, staff at VoIP Unlimited has more than doubled, increasing from eight to 19 employees, in the past year.

As it celebrates its eighth anniversary, the firm is looking to continue its expansion plans and imminently recruit five further employees. With a prestigious client portfolio, which includes Caterham Formula 1, the Golf Open and Oak Telecom Limited, the extra roles the firm is looking to recruit include senior account managers, a support engineer, a field-based account manager and a systems administrator.

Mark Pillow, founder and managing director at VoIP Unlimited, says: “With the web becoming a more significant part of daily life for companies, more and more business leaders have the infrastructure on which to run VoIP.  And this is without mentioning the development of smartphones and other mobile devices in recent years. The continued smartphone boom is making it easier to work on the move and stay in touch with emails and messages, while VoIP services can be deployed to ensure cheap calls can be made from almost any location.

“Users can make the most of their broadband connections to make cheaper telephone calls anywhere in the world.  Business is now also increasingly international and firms rely on trading with their overseas counterparts. Of course, the good news with VoIP is that international calls are available at a hugely reduced rate, when compared to the charges imposed by standard telephone operators.”

He adds: “With the increase in popularity for VoIP technologies, due to the numerous benefits it offers, we are looking to invest further in our team so we can continue to deliver a first-class service to clients.”
