Ahead of the 25th Pedal Car Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday July 15 in Ringwood, two entrant teams from Wave 105 are making the final preparations to their cars.
The radio station is entering two pedal car teams into the afternoon sprint race, the Wave 105 team, led by presenter Simon Clarke, and the Wave 105 Cash for Kids team, led by the charity’s patron and world record holding mountain climber and explorer, Rhys Jones.
The event is held on closed roads in the town centre of Ringwood and the two hour race attracts crowds of more than 10,000. Both Wave 105 teams will take to the one kilometre race circuit and battle it out to win the grand prix title. There is also a prize for the best dressed pedal car.
Wave 105 presenter and team leader, Simon Clarke, said: “The team and I are really looking forward to taking part in the Pedal Car Grand Prix as it is a really exhilarating experience.
“We really hope that our listeners will come down and support us on Sunday as we are up against 30 other teams and some stiff competition!”
