Superior, a leading manufacturer based in Dorset, entered a cycling team into Julia’s House Hospice to Hospice Cycle Ride on Sunday June 11.
A team of seven Superior cyclists completed the 100km route from the charity’s children’s hospice in Corfe Mullen, to Julia’s House’s new Wiltshire hospice in Devizes. Cyclists were given the chance to look around the Wiltshire hospice and had a glimpse of the new facilities on offer for families when it opens for care sessions in July.
The annual event aims to raise funds to help life-limited children and their families, providing practical and emotional support for families caring for children.
Sue Byrne, Quality Systems Manager at Superior, said: “Our cyclists are proud to have contributed to Julia’s House in some small way. We hope to exceed our fundraising target of £800 by the end of June; so far, we’ve raised £512.
“I know Julia’s House will put every penny to good use.”
Hannah Miller, challenge events organiser at Julia’s House, said: “We’re very grateful to Superior for entering a cycling team into this event. It was a fantastic day and the cyclists were blessed with great weather. It’s only the second year we have run this ride but the day was such a success we have already had enquiries for next year.”
