Southsea rugby team, Southsea Nomads, are organising a rugby 10’s tournament and family fun-day from 11am on Saturday August 8 to help raise awareness and funds for Wave 105’s charity, Cash for Kids.

Held at Portsmouth RFC, the tournament, which is in its second year, will see 12 regional teams come together to compete and fundraise.  Last year’s event raised more than £3,000 for charity.

Nomads Club Secretary, Steve Hardman, said: ‘This year’s tournament stands to be even bigger and better than the previous year. We’ve got four more teams taking part, plus some great pitchside family entertainment, along with local food stalls.

“It’ll be a fun family-friendly day out, plus a great opportunity to watch the region’s rugby talent in action.”

Wave 105 charity manager, Gloria Hill, added: “We are so pleased that the Southsea Nomads have taken it upon themselves to support Cash for Kids.”

The event is free to attend, with the Southsea Nomads, Belle Isle Blues, Fareham Heathens, Gosport & Fareham and Bognor Regis set to compete on the day. The winners will take home an honorary plate.
