Bob Walsh and Helene Dabard from Hamworthy Heating give manager of the Secret Wardrobe Natalie Miller (middle) a helping hand
Staff from Hamworthy Heating spent a morning sorting through donations and handpicking the vintage pieces that will grace the shop floor of the Secret Wardrobe in the Dolphin shopping centre in Poole.
All the proceeds from the popular boutique’s sales of pre-loved vintage clothes, art deco jewellery and shabby-chic furniture go to Forest Holme Hospice in Poole, which is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The Fleetsbridge-based, leading commercial boiler manufacturer has chosen Forest Holme Hospice as its charity of the year and pledged to support the charity by donating staff volunteering hours and funds raised from activities and events.
Manager of the Secret Wardrobe, Natalie said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the public who have so kindly donated good quality pre-loved clothing, jewellery and homewares to The Secret Wardrobe. Due to the vast number of the donations, we are grateful to the team at Hamworthy Heating for helping us to unearth the treasures and bring them onto the shop floor for our customers.”
Bob Walsh, technical director and head of the corporate social responsibility committee at Hamworthy Heating, added: “When we heard that the hospice needed help sorting through all its donations, we were more than happy to dedicate the time to assist Natalie and her team. Everyone at Hamworthy Heating is looking forward to supporting the hospice in their upcoming events and participating in a bit of team building at the same time.”
Hamworthy Heating has gifted the charity a new state-of-the-art boiler to provide the heating for the hospice, which is currently being refurbished to improve the facilities for its patients.
