Wave 105 has carried out its annual music review and Snow Patrol has for the second time running topped the ‘Top 100’ chart.
Following its number one slot in December 2011, Chasing Cars made the prime position once again in 2012 as the most requested song by Wave 105 listeners in the ‘All Time Top Five’ throughout the year.
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen came in second, third was Angels by Robbie Williams followed by I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith and Someone Like You by Adele.
The six most popular acts in the ‘Top 100’ chart were Queen, Coldplay, Take That, Robbie Williams, ABBA and Michael Jackson.
The Beatles have only two songs in the ‘Top 100’ and there are no entries by Madonna, David Bowie or One Direction.
Songs from the 1970’s were the most popular with 24 entries from the decade. Only 36 of the ‘Top 100’ songs actually got to number one in the official charts when released and three of them didn’t make it to the charts at all.
