Buckholme Towers School and Nursery in Lower Parkstone, Poole hosted its annual Sports Day at the East Dorset Tennis Club on Monday July 7.
Crowds of parents formed to support the pupils aged two to 11 years old. Team Studland House won by two points narrowly beating Team Alum and were awarded the John Wright Sports Cup for 2014
Competitions included relay, sprints and obstacle courses, as well as the traditional egg and spoon and sack races. Parents had an opportunity to get involved with the ‘mums and dads’ races which proved entertaining for the pupils.
Sport plays a significant role at the independent school based on Commercial Road. Headmaster Iain Robertson, explains: “It was a fantastic day thoroughly enjoyed by spectators and participants alike. The close competition made for such an exciting final race and ensured it was a sports day to remember. The pupils really enjoy the fun light hearted competition!”
“Thank you to all those who supported us at East Dorset Tennis Club and congratulations to all those who competed, parents included.”
