L to R Katy Squire and the Dolphin Shopping Centre's Operations Manager Terry Wharton

A member of the team at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, Poole, has been recognised for her customer service skills and been awarded an ACE Award (Achieving Customer Excellence Award).

Katy Squire, 23, who has been a cleaning host at the Dolphin Centre for more than two years, was presented with her award at a glitzy gala dinner in Birmingham.

The ACE Awards are an annual event that celebrates the best customer service in the retail property industry and recognises those who work in the cleaning and security sector.

Out of the 185 people who were shortlisted for the final event, Katy was one of 12 winners on the evening.

Commenting on her award Katy said: “I was over the moon to make it to the final event and to be recognised for the work I do at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, however to actually win an award is amazing. It was a fantastic evening and it was great to have the support of the Centre’s management team by my side to celebrate with me.”

In order to get through the final stage of the event, Katy had to pass three mystery shoppers scenarios who all nominated her to win. The mystery shoppers described Katy as welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable about the centre and its retailers.

Centre manager, John Grinnell, added: “We are all so pleased for Katy, it’s a well-deserved award. She is a key member of the team here and this award pays homage to all the hard work that goes into ensuring our visitors enjoy coming to the centre.”
