Having little experience or knowledge of PR I didn’t know what to expect from my week’s work experience but went into it excited, with an open mind and ready to absorb as much information as possible. My experience of working at Liz Lean PR definitely did not disappoint!
My first impression was how friendly, professional and enthusiastic the team were about their job which just made me more excited about starting my own career. The week was well planned out, with the tasks I would be completing each day given to me in advance and I enjoyed getting to work with all the team on their various accounts – this meant I got to learn about the variety of clients Liz Lean PR works with.
Being left to work on various tasks has given me a fantastic insight into some of the key aspects of PR. I have had the opportunity to search for coverage, search for social media trends and research suitable celebrity ambassadors for various clients. I have also had the opportunity to write a press release which I had not done before, which was really beneficial. I was also invited to attend several client meetings.
As I am particularly interested in the events side of things, having the opportunity to attend the meeting for the Poole Harbour Boat Show in just a few weeks’ time, was really useful.
All the team have been really supportive in offering advice throughout the week and Alice has always made sure I have plenty of tasks to do, which has been great!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my week with Liz Lean PR and would recommend the experience to anyone wanting to get in to PR. Thank you so much to Liz and all the team Alice, Caitlin, Louise, Stuart, Holly, Shona, Cat and Nicky for this fantastic experience.
