Glitz, glamour and snow came to Beales in Bournemouth on Thursday November 1 as 500 followers of fashion and celebrity guests descended upon the store for the award-winning Beales’ Girls Night Out fashion event.

With a 1920’s theme, the renowned Beales’ Girls Night Out event featured a catwalk celebration of the latest autumn and winter styles, beauty makeovers and skincare advice opportunities, style demonstrations, bra-fitting guidance as well as free champagne and canapés.

Guests were treated to a catwalk show which highlighted the latest styles including chunky knitwear, faux fur and metallics; all from top fashion brands at Beales. Brands showcased included new women’s wear brands First Avenue, Crew Clothing and Iron Fist, and men’s wear brand James Aubrey. The latest ranges in the Beales womenswear label ‘GEM’, the ‘Broadbents and Boothroyds Casualwear’ for men, both designed by fashion icon George Davies, as well as Beales own label ‘Beales Collection’ were also displayed.

Also in attendance were popular 2011 X-Factor contestants, The Risk, who took to the catwalk to perform for an admiring audience and kick-off the fashion show. Aside from the latest fashions, crowds watching the show were entertained during the penultimate scene by a professional dance act who have worked with some of the world’s biggest recording stars including Kylie, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna, Mariah Carey and X-Factor contestants. For the final scene, light snow began to fall on stage as The Risk, dancers and the models walked the runaway to celebrate the forthcoming festive season.

Following the show, guests flocked to the beauty department to indulge in a little pampering. Dior’s guest make-up artist was on hand together with Laura Mercier make-up artists to provide the latest make-up techniques and tips and the Nail Clinic by Mavala proved popular. Theatre students from The Arts University College at Bournemouth also roamed the store in 1920’s costume, entertaining the crowds with Great Gatsby themed drama sketches.

Tony Brown, chief executive at Beales, said: “Our winter Girls Nights Out event delivered its promise to add glamour to an evening of shopping and pampering. The show offered a whole host of inspiration on how to create the latest winter wardrobe and the entertainment proved popular with our guests. Huge thanks to our celebrity guests, The Risk, who not only sung a series of fantastic tracks but were also on-hand to sign autographs. With glitz, glamour and light snow falling on the catwalk, Girls Night Out provided the perfect ingredients to kick-start the winter festive season.”
