Youngsters from the Little Spinnaker Pre-School have visited Churchill Retirement Living’s Summerson Lodge in Southsea as part of their Easter bonnet parade celebrations.
Fifty children, aged between three and four, were busy creating their own bonnets in the lead up to Easter and visited Summerson Lodge to show off their designs to Owners as well as sing a selection of songs while they paraded through the retirement development.
Owners and staff at Summerson Lodge were then on-hand with a selection of Easter treats to congratulate the pre-school children.
Kate Aylward, pre-school teacher at the Little Spinnaker Pre-School, says: “Summerson Lodge is one of the four locations we visited during our parade and we wish to thank them for accommodating us. I selected Summerson Lodge because my grandmother, Betty Knight, has an apartment there and it is great to give the children the opportunity to visit the older generation in a lovely environment. The children took a lot of time creating their bonnets and they loved showing them off to the Owners at Summerson Lodge.”
Ann De La Haye, Lodge Manager at Summerson Lodge, says: “We are delighted to host the pre-school and to be part of the Easter parade. We regularly host events in the Owners’ Lounge for our Owners to participate in and we were delighted to welcome Little Spinnaker Pre-School.”
