Following its huge success back in July, Poole’s pop-up outdoor cinema is set to make a return this Friday (August 23) thanks to the Dolphin shopping centre and Poole Town Centre Partnership sponsoring the free event.

The open air cinema will take pride of place in Falkland Square and will screen a selection of Disney classics throughout the whole day with the following films being shown:

  • 9.30am – Bambi
  • 11.00am – Finding Nemo
  • 1.00pm – The Aristocats
  • 3.00pm – Toy Story
  • 5.00pm – Pirates of the Caribbean

John Grinnell, Dolphin shopping centre manager, said: “The last outdoor cinema event was a huge success and we received fantastic feedback. Not only is it a great way of giving shoppers a more varied experience, it also gives them a chance to relax and stay longer in the town centre.”

Shoppers will be able to enjoy the film on 20 colourful large bean bags which will be organised in the square as a dedicated seating area around the 18 square metre LED screen.

Jonathan Sibbett, chairman of Poole Town Centre Partnership, said: “We wanted to make Falkland Square a place to relax and spend more time. The new seating is part of our plans to use this area as a space for more events and develop Poole as a great town centre destination.”
