Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) has welcomed back cruise ship company Noble Caledonia for a second season in Poole harbour.

The Island Sky will sail from Poole taking in the Channel Islands and the Scilly Isles before sailing on to Oban, Scotland.

Destinations planned for the various coastal tour cruises incorporate stately homes and gardens from Cornwall to Dublin and Scotland. All scheduled cruises commence from Poole with passengers embarking in Poole Harbour.

PHC is keen to capitalise on the cruise market which is one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in the UK.

“It has been exciting to see an uplift in cruise business over recent years and we have been told by a number of cruise ship operators that they are keen to come to Poole Harbour. Our planned new berth will provide facilities for vessels that currently cannot call at Poole” said Jim Stewart, chief executive of Poole Harbour Commissioners.

“PHC works very hard to ensure the best customer service for these organisations and hope that the message may spread wider throughout the industry that Poole is a perfect place to bring their business.”
