Kind-hearted employees at LV= in Bournemouth are pledging their spare pennies in support of a Poole hospice.
Over 1,500 employees are being invited to donate their pennies on a monthly basis as part of the Pennies from Heaven coin collection scheme.
Pennies from Heaven’s goal is to get everyone in the UK donating their spare pennies to charity. This would be worth over £230 million pounds a year to charities and the initiative is the fastest growing coin collection scheme for employees in the UK.
It means that Forest Holme hospice, which is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses will benefit from staff who sign up to donate the ‘odd pennies’ left on their net pay each month on an ongoing basis.
Debra Dennett, Fundraising manager for Forest Holme says:”The Pennies from Heaven initiative shows that pennies really do add up. Take care of the pennies and the pounds look after themselves! We cannot thank LV= employees enough for taking part in the scheme and their support.”
Samantha Preece, Social Responsibility Manager with LV= says: “As a business we’re committed to supporting charities and good causes in the communities around our offices. Pennies from Heaven is just one of the many ways that our people can get involved with doing this. We’re delighted that the scheme will support Forest Holme and the good work that they do”
