The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole held a Pet Care Day on the Bank Holiday weekend, working in partnership with its charity of the year, Margaret Green Animal Rescue, to offer shoppers with dogs a free microchipping service.

Throughout the Saturday more than 20 dogs were chipped as part of the Pet Care Day initiative and almost £100 was collected in donations for Margaret Green Animal Rescue.

As well as the chipping, staff from the animal rescue charity offered advice and guidance to pet owners who had concerns and issues.

Kate Cross, fundraising and marketing officer for Margaret Green Animal Rescue, said: “We are really pleased with how the Pet Care Day was received. With it being compulsory for all dogs to be micro chipped by April 2016, it is important we raise awareness of this and offer help where we can.”
