It’s now going to be even easier to get to Paultons family theme park in the New Forest, thanks to a new bus service launching this summer for families travelling from in and around the Southampton area.

The new X24 bus service will run from Southampton to Paultons Park, via Romsey. It will operate every weekend and bank holiday from May 23 to September 6, and it will become a daily service from July 27 during the school summer holidays.

Provided by Xelabus, the service is being supported by the New Forest National Park Authority with Department for Transport (DfT) funding and Paultons Park, to encourage more car-free travel in and around the National Park.

It will also make it easier for those who live outside of Hampshire to visit the park, as the service will stop at Southampton Central Train Station (which boasts a regular and direct service from London Waterloo) and other transport interchanges.

Stephen Lorton, commercial director of Paultons Park, said: “The Summer Service X24 to Paultons Park will be a convenient way for families to get to us on weekends and during the school summer holidays, and enjoy Peppa Pig World, our new Critter Creek mini-land and all the other exciting attractions.”

He added: “We know many of our visitors arrive by car but the X24 will now be a great alternative for guests travelling from in and around the Southampton area.”

Oliver Crosthwaite-Eyre, Chairman of the New Forest National Park Authority, said: “We’re delighted to support the Summer Service X24 to Paultons Park. It not only offers families a fun way to get to the attraction, but it will help take cars off local roads and reduce carbon emissions – helping to protect the unique landscapes of the New Forest National Park and it neighbouring areas.”

Philip Blair, managing director of Xelabus, said:  “We are delighted to be providing the bus service to and from Paultons Park and with such a colourful Peppa Pig World bus we expect lots of children will want to ride and save mum and dad taking the car”

The Hampshire-based theme park has over 60 rides and attractions to enjoy, including favourites such as EDGE, Paultons’ biggest rollercoaster – Cobra, Magma, the Raging River Ride and the 4D Show Street Cinema. It’s also home to the world’s first and UK exclusive Peppa Pig World and recently launched Critter Creek, a brand-new mini-land of weird and wonderful discoveries.
