On completion of a two year training contract with leading Dorset and Somerset law firm Humphries Kirk, Gemma Gilvear from Parkstone has accepted a full-time permanent position as a solicitor with the litigation department in Dorchester.
Gemma joined Humphries Kirk as a trainee solicitor in 2014, after relocating to Dorset. Following an extensive training contract, Gemma qualified in December and has joined the civil litigation team.
Her role includes working on personal injury and medical negligence claims, as well as neighbour disputes and landlord and tenant issues. She said: “When I relocated to Dorset, Humphries Kirk was my first choice of law firm to carry out a training contract with. I’d heard of the firm’s fantastic reputation and with their many offices across the county, I thought it would be a great place to start my career.
“The training contact taught me so much, as well as giving me practical on the job experience among some of the highly qualified solicitors in the firm.”
Victoria Pearson, partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “Gemma was a joy to have as part of the Humphries Kirk trainees programme and, on her qualifying, it was an easy decision to offer her a full-time role. Her can-do attitude and dedication, both to our loyal existing and new clients, will make her a valued asset to our already expert team.”
Humphries Kirk offers legal expertise to private and commercial clients and has offices in Dorchester, Crewkerne, Wareham, Swanage, Poole, Parkstone, Bournemouth and London, as well as a network of international lawyers.
