Order books for two new Volkswagen models are now open at Tower Park-based Breeze Volkswagen.  The new Volkswagen Polo and Golf SV can now be ordered from the showroom ahead of the official deliveries in July.

Local car buyers now have the opportunity to purchase the new Volkswagen Polo, which offers new levels of comfort and safety as well as a range of more fuel efficient engines.

Prices start from £11,000, increasing to £19,715 for the high specification Blue GT model and the new Polo offers fuel economy improvements of up to 23 per cent.   Petrol options available are two three-cylinder 1.0-litre MPI units with 60 or 75 PS; two 1.2-litre four-cylinder TSI engines with 90 or 110 PS and a 1.4-litre TSI engine with cylinder deactivation (ACT), with power increased by 10 PS to 150 PS.  Diesel options are two three-cylinder 1.4-litre TDI engines, with 75 and 90 PS.

New technology includes all-LED headlights on several models in the range, as well as electric power steering and electronically-adjustable dampers to switch between two suspension settings.  Safety kit includes adaptive cruise control, city emergency braking and a driver alert system.

The Volkswagen Golf SV incorporates all the advanced technology of the award-winning Golf hatchback range, but in a large more practical body.

Prices start at £18,875 and compared to the regular Golf hatchback, the SV is 83mm longer, 81mm wider, 126mm taller and has an extra 48mm in the wheelbase meaning there is more room inside for five passengers and luggage.

Powering the SV is a range of petrol and diesel engines, all of which incorporate Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems.  There are two turbo charged 1.2-litre petrol engines with 85 and 110 PS; two 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines with 125 and 150 PS; and three turbo diesels: a 2.0-litre 150 PS, a 1.6-litre 90 PS and a 1.6-litre 110 PS.  All engines apart from the 1.2-litre TSI 85 PS can be ordered with a DSG gearbox.

Safety aids include a new blind spot monitoring option called Side Scan, standard automatic braking system which automatically stops the vehicle after a collision, and a PreCrash system which, on detecting the possibility of an accident, pre-tensions seatbelts and closes the windows and sunroof, leaving just a small gap, to ensure the best possible protection from the airbags.

John Corderoy, managing director at Breeze Volkswagen, says: “We’re excited to be introducing not only one but two new Volkswagen vehicles to the showroom this summer.  Five years after the fifth-generation Volkswagen Polo arrived, the super-mini has gone through a thorough overhaul and offers and fuel-efficient ride.  The Golf SV is the third variant of the seventh-generation Golf, alongside the hatchback and the Estate, and has a look that clearly follows the design of its siblings.”

He adds:  “At Breeze Volkswagen we deliver a highly personal approach to business which ultimately results in the provision of outstanding levels of customer care.  As a result we look forward to welcoming people to the showroom to find out more about the two new and dynamic Volkswagens.”
