Screenings of Titus Andronicus and Julius Caesar will be shown in April at ODEON Dorchester as part of the Globe on Screen season.

The Globe on Screen season provides audiences with the chance to enjoy critically acclaimed performances from Shakespeare’s Globe in the comfort of your local cinema. With Shakespeare’s birthday on Thursday April 23, it’s the perfect time to visit ODEON Dorchester and celebrate the works of the great Bard.

ODEON Dorchester’s cultural Globe on Screen performances will start with a screening of Titus Andronicus on Thursday April 9. It’s a violent, dark and gruesome play, which proved to be the smash-hit of Shakespeare’s early career. Julius Caesar is the next cultural Globe on Screen title to be shown at ODEON Dorchester on Thursday April 30. It’s a tense drama and timeless classic, highlighting little has changed between men in power struggles.

Alan Escott, general manager at ODEON Dorchester, says: “Shakespeare is the most popular dramatist and poet the Western world has ever produced. Despite almost 400 years passing since his death, he’s still considered one of the best writers of all time. At the ODEON we regularly screen a variety of cultural performances.”

Shakespeare is one of few in history whose birthday and death day is the same – April 23. He’s renowned for his plays, tragedies, comedies and histories.

Tickets for Globe on Screen Titus Andronicus and Julius Caesar are priced from £7.50 for children, £8 for seniors and £10 for adults.

ODEON Dorchester is situated within the Brewery Square development and tickets can be booked by calling 0871 224 4007 or visiting www.odeon.co.uk/cinemas/dorchester/214.
