Anaesthetist at Poole hospital, Dr Greg Britton, winner of the Cornelia Cup sponsored by Nuffield Health
Thirty doctors and dentists from across Bournemouth and Poole took part in this year’s Cornelia Cup, sponsored by Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, at Parkstone Golf Club.
With an impressive gross score of 68, anaesthetist at Poole hospital Dr Greg Britton was the triumphant winner of both the Cornelia Cup and the scratch trophy. Local retired chest physician, Dr John Miller, was the gracious runner-up.
Organised by Dr Sarah Primavesi, GP at Canford Heath practice and anaesthetist Dr Sian Gordon, the competition is followed by a relaxed evening with dinner at the club.
Dr Sarah Primavesi said: “For the last 60 years the competition has offered local doctors, at all stages in their careers, the opportunity to meet colleagues from different specialties in an informal and relaxed way. Thank you to Nuffield Health Bournemouth for sponsoring the event for the second year running and to all of our competitors for taking part and for their continued support.”
Taking its name from the original name of Poole hospital, the Cornelia Cup was founded around 60 years ago at Parkstone Golf Club for doctors and dentists who worked in Poole. In recent years, the competition has evolved to incorporate medical colleagues from Bournemouth.
