Leading Dorset and Somerset law firm Humphries Kirk has strengthened its commercial team by welcoming a new partner with more than 25 years of legal experience.
Martin Varley joins the Humphries Kirk office in Dorchester to undertake corporate and commercial advice for the firm’s wide-reaching client base, with a focus on financial services, banking and regulatory matters.
Martin is a Solicitor and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). He sits on the Financial Conduct Authority Financial Regulations Panel and is an External Specialist to CISI. He chairs a number of regulatory and remuneration committees.
On relocating to Dorset from a law firm in Royal Tunbridge Wells, where he spent nine years, Martin said: “I am delighted to join Humphries Kirk, a firm which is a major regional player, well known in the UK and internationally. Dorset has a great business community and I look forward to working with the clientele of this impressive and expanding firm.”
Martin was previously a partner in a City firm and the Middle East. His portfolio ncludes large scale project work, corporate commercial transactions and overseas finance for businesses. He also joins the Humphries Kirk International Network, a worldwide group of legal and business advisers. Martin is a member of the Law Society International Division.
