Following the unveiling of the line-up for this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival (August 28-31), Wave 105 is thrilled to announce that for a third year running it will be the official commercial radio partner for the UK’s largest free aviation event.

The south’s leading radio station will be broadcasting live on Bournemouth beach from the Wave 105 beach bar including the Hop on Inn, a 1966 routemaster bus from Thursday August 28 until Sunday August 31. Wave 105 will cover all of the action, from the thrilling air displays, news, travel and weather, on air and online live via its website www.wave105.com.

As well as all of this, back by popular demand is ‘Night Air at the Piers’. With two hugely successful years under its belt, the live music event, which is sponsored by Corona, promises to once again offer an incredible programme of evening entertainment.

The Night Air programme will be jam-packed with spectacular dusk flying demonstrations to light up the twilight skies, musical entertainment from the Bournemouth stage as well as another star-filled line-up over two nights at Boscombe pier.

As the official ‘Night Air’ radio partner, Wave 105 will once again be hosting the Boscombe stage and is soon to reveal the big names in music that will be serenading the Boscombe beach ticketed event this year on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Jon Brooks, commercial director of Wave 105, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the Bournemouth Air Festival once again. This event is one of the largest of its kind and has positioned itself as one of the most attended annual events on the south coast and this year’s spectacle is gearing up to be even more exciting.

“As well as providing coverage of the event, Wave 105 will be involved heavily with the Night Air programme. There are some big announcements to come so stay tuned to find out what acts we have in store to make this year’s Night Air programme better than ever.”

Jon Weaver, Air Festival Director added; “This is our third year working with Wave105 and the acts just continue to get bigger and better – we can’t wait to announce the line-up!”

As well as live music at Boscombe and Bournemouth stages the Night Air programme features The Band of HM Royal Marines (CTCRM) performing the Beat Retreat, Royal Marines Combat Display Team on the East Overcliff, an extended dusk display starting at 7.15pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday, firework displays Friday and Saturday night and beach fireworks Thursday and Friday evening.
