You may or may not be aware that this year, we’re celebrating 20 years of Liz Lean PR. As part of these celebrations we’re looking to take part in ’20 Acts of Kindness’ within our local community. We’re already pretty good at recycling wherever we can and because we’re based on the beach we know the importance of looking after the harbour.

This week we’ve been getting involved with Poole BID’s Big Clean of the high street. The aim of the game here is to tidy up the town centre and get it ship shape ready for the summer holidays and the upcoming Poole Maritime Festival in June.

Our jobs so far have included litter picking up and down the high street from the Dolphin Shopping Centre to Town Quay and weeding the floral displays ahead of the new Poole in Bloom arrangements, which are coming soon. We’ve got volunteers out for the rest of the week so we’re looking forward to what other jobs Justin and the Poole BID team might have in store for us.

Justin Hundley-Appleton, BID manager, commented: “It’s been great having the LLPR team along helping us out this week as every helping hand is greatly appreciated. There’s still time to come along and get involved, give us a ring on 01202 308800 to find out how you or your business can join in.”

It’s been great to get out and about, have a stroll around our town, and meet some of the local retailers. We’ve also all had a noticeable bump in our step counts so far, we did almost 3km of litter picking within an hour this morning. You don’t realise the amount of cigarette butts there are until you try picking them up!

We’ve got all sorts of activities lined up for the rest of the year to help give back to the local community. If you want to nominate something for us to do, then drop us a line on mail@lizleanpr.co.uk with your suggestion and we’ll see if we can include it on our list.
