Lloyds Bank has joined forces with KPMG in the search for Dorset’s best business. Co-sponsoring the Company of the Year Award in the Daily Echo-backed Dorset Business Award, Lloyds Bank together with KPMG will be looking to acknowledge a business that exhibits all-round excellence and achievement.

The KPMG and Lloyds Bank Company of the Year Award aims to identify and celebrate the best of business in the county and entry is open to companies of all sizes.  Successful entrants will need to have been trading for at least three years, and have the ability to illustrate an extensive range of skills and achievements, including:

  • Excellence in customer care
  • First-class processes for research and development into new products      or services
  • Outstanding financial performance
  • Commitment to staff training and development plans
  • Contribution to the wider community and steps to      protect the county’s environment

The current Company of the Year Award holder is Highcliffe-based Hoburne Holiday Parks. Talking about receiving the accolade, chairman of Hoburne Holiday Parks Rosie Kennar says: “Winning Company of the Year was the perfect start to our centenary celebrations. I cannot think of a better way to have begun such a momentous year.  It meant a great deal to the whole team and a number were there on the night to hear Hoburne announced the winner.”

Rosie adds: “I would encourage others to enter the Dorset Business Awards as it is a golden PR opportunity. Winning an award provides a great news and feature ‘hook’ for consumer and trade press and magazines, sending out positive messages to customers, local business communities, the media and your industry as a whole. Winning Company of the Year certainly raised our profile among the local business community in Dorset, where our Head Office is based.  We collected the Award in front of more than 500 local business people and I have since been invited to give presentations to local networking groups, all of which helps spread the word. We have even had holiday home sales leads from those presentations.”

Stephen Ogborn of Lloyds Banks comments: “We’re delighted to come on board as co-sponsor of this Award category and look forward to receiving a diverse range of entries.”

The Awards are free to enter and entrants can submit an entry via www.dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk or print off an entry form and submit a paper-based entry. The closing date for entry is Friday September 14.

The Awards are also backed by the south’s leading radio station Wave 105 and supported by the Dorset Echo.  For further information about the Awards or to purchase tickets for the Gala Dinner on November 29 please contact Shirley Ewart on 01202 714812.
