Michelle Jose completing her skydive

Tapper Funeral Service’s Michelle Jose completed the UK’s highest tandem free-fall skydive by jumping from an altitude of 15,000 feet in memory of her mum on Saturday April 6.

Michelle, who works at Tapper Funeral Service’s Christchurch office, has raised more than £800 for Macmillan Caring Locally, exceeding her £500 target.

The 40-year-old who lost her mum, Joyce Jose, 16 years ago said she would have been lost without the help from the Macmillan nurses who cared for her at home in her final weeks.

Michelle said: “We relied on Macmillan so much. I have no idea how we would have coped without the staff there. They were so caring and supportive.

“The feeling of free falling at 120 mph was truly amazing; it felt like I was flying more than falling. I certainly will be doing it again that’s for sure.”
